Although the rooms don't have a view, they're spacious, with two adjoining rooms, a large in-room bathtub, a massage chair, and a big sofa. The staff were helpful and welcoming, even assisting with luggage from the distant parking lot. It's also one of the oldest inns in Yunoyama Onsen, and I highly recommend it. You can get discounted tickets for the nearby Gozaisho-dake Ropeway Station. There's a garden, a private open-air bath, and ”Suiunkaku”, a registered cultural property where the Emperor and Empress have stayed. Dinner is served in your room and was neither too bad nor too bad. Breakfast was very lively, with lots of families and children. Suzuka Circuit and Nagashima Onsen are nearby, so it seems families often visit the area.

My package included unlimited access to the public spa, dinner, breakfast, and one free session in the private spa, so it was very good value. Kotobukitei also provides very good service to all customers. It's a great place for a traditional Japanese hot spa.

Getting from the parking lot to the main lobby reception is difficult: it's far away and there are staircases, so wheelchair access is a problem. Visitors need to use another entrance instead. Contact the hotel before arriving to find out how to reach it.

The staff were friendly, mostly young, and full of energy. We had good food and a clean, neat room. We'll definitely be back for another visit.
