Auberge Suzukane

At dinner, we asked about local sake, and the proprietress brought us tasting samples and suggested a bottle that suited us perfectly. She was also kind enough to give us detailed advice on getting around for sightseeing the next day. That careful attention and genuine warmth made our stay at Auberge Suzukane unforgettable. The kaiseki dinner was beautifully prepared, and the heartfelt service made for a warm, comforting stay. We had a wonderful time at this hidden gem in Bandai-Atami Onsen, Koriyama, and came away with lasting memories of the trip and the welcoming spirit of a Japanese innkeeper.

I could relax in the spacious, secluded room. The service and food both left me very satisfied, and I had the open-air bath all to myself, which I really enjoyed.

The private bath was much bigger than we expected, and everyone in the family was happy with the trip. We came as three generations to celebrate my grandfather's birthday, with our 3-year-old child along. The landlady and staff were gentle and kind, which made the little one happy. Both the course dinner and breakfast were delicious, so it's an inn where the food is a real pleasure. When I casually mentioned to a staff member at dinner that it was my grandfather's birthday, they brought out dessert on a birthday plate. That surprise really impressed me with their hospitality. We have lovely memories of our stay, and would like to return.

We had a comfortable, relaxing stay, and the staff were considerate and helpful. The rooms and private open-air bath are arranged behind the entrance building so they can't be seen from outside. The entrance building has the front desk, shop, and restaurant, while seven separate rooms sit farther back. There's also a private open-air bath tucked in one corner. Each guest room has its own bath with hot spring water flowing through, so you can enjoy a soak to suit your mood. The food portions are just right for seniors, and the quality is very good. They pay close attention to the tableware, too. Staff said they go shopping with the landlady, and if guests spot something they like, it's sold in the shop. The items there are amazing 👌, especially if you're into pottery or lacquerware. Thank you! ❣️
