The price is great, with dinner and breakfast included, and it’s about a 15-minute walk from Kotohira Station. It’s a small inn in a converted house, run by an older couple and their family. Staying here was a wonderful way for me to get a feel for how local people live in this part of Japan. It’s kind of like a B&B, and I highly recommend it.

It may not be the prettiest inn, but everyone was so kind. I got there early and was planning to walk around Konpira Shrine, then the man drove me to the back of the shrine approach. We ate takoyaki, yakitori, fried chicken, and more at the cafe next door, and it was delicious. I highly recommend it. I only drink, so I wished there had been a few more kinds of alcohol. The place felt like home and I could relax. Breakfast the next morning was at 8:30 and cost 700 yen, with vegetables, toast, fruit, and more. So cheap! I’ve stayed all over the country, and I thought this was a great place. Thanks for everything! 🙇
The family running the inn also runs a restaurant, and everyone was friendly and easy to talk to. The atmosphere felt like home, which I really appreciated. I came to stay while sightseeing at Konpira-san, and thanks to the inn, I had a wonderful New Year’s trip. The basic rate is 7,000 yen and includes meals cooked at the attached restaurant and brought to your room, plus the necessary facilities. The meals and sleeping arrangements suited me well, and I didn’t find anything inconvenient. The family bath costs 500 yen to use, and the water is changed for each guest. There’s also a free shower room. The next day, they arranged for me to park for free at another facility when I visited Konpira-san, and looked after me until I left. I’m truly grateful to everyone at “Tokishirazu.” Thank you very much.
They kindly provided a pickup even at night, and I’ll definitely come back. I later heard from a local friend that the nearby takoyaki and karaage shop, popular around Kotohira, Zentsuji, and Mannō, has plenty of repeat customers. The inn is run by the same people. One night isn’t enough if you want to experience the real Sanuki. This place will seriously make you wish you’d stayed another night. I still wonder why we can watch Sun TV terrestrial broadcasting in central Sanuki. And the neighboring Skunk is especially fantastic.
It’s a regular house with decent amenities and a great landlady. The bath costs 500 yen per use, while the shower is free. Being able to order food from the takoyaki shop next door is a big plus. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the station, and they also offer a shuttle.
