The hotel is clean, spacious, and right by the river. The parking behind it costs 1200 yen per night until 11am, but it’s charged per entry, so driving out means paying another 1200 yen. Staff said that was hotel policy, though it didn’t make much sense to me. We arrived around 5pm and wanted to go out for dinner. Fortunately, I found a public lot just 10m away. It’s flexible, at 100 yen an hour and a maximum of 500 yen overnight. I paid only 700 yen for the night and could come and go for dinner and shopping. There are quite a few public lots nearby, so it’s worth checking the options.

I wouldn’t stay here again. The room was stuffy and poorly ventilated, and the corridor was cooler than inside. If I’d known the window couldn’t be opened and the air conditioning was off in November, I wouldn’t have booked. The air purifier was a small help but too weak to cool the whole room. There’s also a big step up or down to the bathroom, which could be risky for older guests and children. The hotel is some distance from the shopping and dining areas. There were a few good points: four pillows on the bed, Netflix and YouTube on the TV, fast Wi-Fi, and strong hot shower pressure. That’s why I gave it two stars.

The rooms are comfortable and clean. The location is handy for Kumamoto, with the bus and train stations not too far away.

I wouldn’t stay here again. The bathroom and toilet were very old and dirty, and the rooms really need renovating. There was also a large step down from the bathroom that felt uncomfortable and dangerous.

The rooms were clean and fairly spacious, and there are several washing machines and dryers for a small fee. The hotel is near Kumamoto’s nightlife area but far enough away to avoid noise. It’s nicely decorated, and the staff were very friendly, patient, and helpful. Some inexpensive parking is available behind the hotel. If that lot is full, they direct you to a garage about a five-minute walk away, with the cost subsidized so you pay the same as for the hotel lot.
