The Blossom Kumamoto

There’s a big shopping mall downstairs, with Bic Camera nearby, so there are plenty of shopping options. The hotel is modern and right next to Kumamoto Station, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was amazing. Parking is ¥1,000 per day, which seems fair if you’re on a road trip. This is my top hotel pick in Kumamoto, and I’d happily stay here again.

The room was spacious, and they even provided a charging cable. There’s a mall in the same building, plus lots of shops and restaurants. Great value, right by the JR station in the center of town. We’ll stay here again next time we’re in Kumamoto.

The hotel’s layout and interior are beautifully designed, modern Japanese style, simple but luxurious. There’s an impressive inner courtyard that houses a wedding venue. Staff were very friendly and the service was high quality. The fitness equipment is minimal, so it may not suit someone traveling for fitness. Parking takes a bit of effort: you use the adjacent Amu Plaza mall, then go through several stairs and lifts to reach the lobby. Getting here by train is likely easier since the JR station connects to the building.

We found lots of places to eat, plus grocers and convenience stores for snacks, since the hotel connects to Amu Plaza and is close to the train station. The Christmas decorations and lights looked beautiful when we arrived, and the staff were super friendly. After check-in, one staff member showed us where the fitness room and public bath were. It felt very safe too, with a key-card door blocking access to the room lifts. I’d personally recommend staying here. 5 stars🥳
