Hotel 1-2-3 Kurashiki

The room was a decent size, a little old-fashioned, but nothing really to complain about. Breakfast had a nice range of options. It felt a bit too far to walk, though the free rental bikes helped, even if they only have five. There’s plenty of parking if you come by car. Our one real issue was that we booked a standard room and only realized it was a smoking room after booking.

The rooms are clean, the bathrooms are good, and there’s a nearby supermarket along with places to eat. Breakfast is okay, with both Japanese and Western options. It takes a while to walk to the train station, and the busy road nearby means it isn’t quiet. We had a problem with the air conditioning: even switched off, something kept running and making noise. It made us cough continuously, and the coughing stopped when we left the room. Other travelers had the same issue. You can wash clothes there, but the machine’s timer is wrong, so add 30 minutes to the time it shows.

We enjoyed our stay. There’s free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, and with two lifts, getting our luggage upstairs was easy. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was okay, and breakfast was good, though nothing special. It’s all fine but not luxurious. The view wasn’t great because they’re building something next to the hotel, but that didn’t matter much.

The room was spacious and clean, and the receptionist was really helpful. A good hotel to stay at.
