Hotel Monterey La Soeur Ginza

The twin room was spacious for Japan. We could open two large suitcases and still had room to walk around and fit a stroller. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, and there was a full range of amenities, including various complimentary skincare products. The location was great, close to public transport and a short walk from the heart of Ginza, with lots of good restaurants nearby. I had a very good impression after our two nights here.

This was not a good choice for our family with a small child. We stayed one night on our last day in Japan because the location was perfect for taking the Narita Express, and the hotel restaurant sounded convenient for an early dinner with our baby. But when we asked for the menu after checking in, we were told children under seven weren't allowed. There was no indication of this anywhere, which was very disappointing. We also asked where we could change the baby's diaper. The receptionist pointed us to a toilet, but there was nowhere to change him. I went back and said it was fine to change him in the room, so they let us have the room earlier than expected. The room had lots of amenities but was terribly small, and we had to leave the stroller outside. There is a window, but it can't be opened. Breakfast was extremely minimal, with no choice and nothing healthy for children, like fresh fruit or fresh yogurt. Not the right place for a family.

We loved our stay at Hotel Monterey La Soeur Ginza and would happily come back. The staff were so kind, and our rooms were cleaned every day. They had the basic products we needed, plus a ReFa hairdryer, which was my favorite part. Thank you for your hospitality 🌸

The best part is the location, an easy walk from Tokyo Station, where you can catch a bus to Narita Airport. The rooms are comfortable and have Western-style decor, though they're small, as is common in Japan. Staff are friendly and helpful, but their English is quite limited, so communication can be a bit challenging at times. A charming, well-placed hotel for a short city stay.
