Clayton Bay Hotel

The room inside was beautifully renovated, even though the outside looked a little tired and old. It felt like a luxury stay for a good price. The staff were very professional, and the restaurant was much better than I expected from a hotel. Breakfast looked lovely and was made by a professional chef.

The harbor view from the top-floor breakfast area is good, and drinks are served at a bar. My first-day breakfast was a bit disappointing, but the second day was much better. The room was decent, more like what you’d expect from a business hotel. Although there are photos of a “big bath,” hotel guests can’t use it. Breakfast is now a set menu rather than a buffet.

I tried the Kaga aircraft curry and liked it. Each vessel has a different curry, submarines included. There’s a pamphlet showing where to go.

The rooms are really nice, and the staff are very polite. The only drawback is the location: it’s not very close to the train station, or to much else besides a pachinko parlor.
