Hyatt Regency Tokyo

They kept our extra suitcases for a whole week while we traveled to Korea, then had them ready for us on our last night before the flight back to the States. That made the trip logistics much easier. They also held our bags on checkout day. And the room's Mount Fuji view was breathtaking, waking up to it was a highlight of the trip. Breakfast had a fantastic range of options too. Absolutely incredible stay, with service that went above and beyond.

The hotel is handy for getting around, with a 7-eleven downstairs by the subway entrance and the heart of Shinjuku about a 10-15 minute walk away. There are shuttles from the lobby, though we didn't use them, and the staff arranged taxis for us. For laundry, there are two or three easy-to-use places across the park, around a 10-minute walk from the lobby. The staff were great and multilingual, as I've come to expect at Hyatt. There are lots of amenities in and around the hotel. Our room was nice, though smaller than some other Hyatt Regency’s we've stayed at in Japan, like Yokohama.

The room was a little smaller than I expected, but the bed and pillows were comfortable. Wi-Fi was slow, and streaming wasn't easy. I stayed two nights with club access. The club was clean and not crowded, with good breakfast, afternoon food, and happy hours. Main dishes changed each day, and I liked the Japanese red wine from Nagano. Some of the fish was a little overcooked. Staff were very friendly and helpful. After this good experience, I'd consider staying at the Hyatt brand more often.

We were a bit farther from where we usually stay near Shinjuku station, but the free shuttle bus helped, and there are smaller metro stations downstairs. Walking to Shinjuku station took maybe 15 minutes. The airport limo bus stops right outside for both Haneda and Narita. There's a convenience store in the basement, plus eateries, cafes, and a 24-hour supermarket within walking distance. Lots of families and dogs were enjoying the park nearby. We booked a park-view room for our early December 2025 trip to see the autumn foliage. It turned out to be on the 25th floor with a Mount Fuji view, which was a lovely surprise on a last-minute trip. The hotel is beautiful, and the room was spacious by Japanese standards. The bathroom was large too, with separate bath and shower. The lobby was lovely, and the front desk and Bell staff were very helpful.
