We were grateful that the owner let us check in early after a helpful introduction to the area. We arrived shortly after 12, planning only to leave our bags before the 2 pm check-in, but the owner got out a map and patiently pointed out where to explore around Yubatake, when to see the Yumomi show, and where to eat. The ryokan has lots of character and thoughtful touches, including a designated shoe area and separate slippers for indoors, outdoors, and the onsen. The owner was warm and welcoming throughout. There are three private onsens, one with a sauna, and each can be locked for privacy. Breakfast was delicious and carefully put together, with around 15 different little dishes. We had a wonderful stay.

The owner and staff are always so kind and attentive, and the facilities are great. This has become one of our favorite places to stay in Japan. We love coming back and recommend it to anyone visiting Kusatsu Onsen.

Using the private sauna with my family was a great experience. The loyly temperature could be adjusted and felt just right, and the open-air sauna bath was very comfortable. There are also two private hot springs. Yubatake is a little way off, but the walk is a nice chance to get some exercise.

The owner was so kind and flexible. He even shifted our private bath time to fit our schedule, and suggested well-known hot springs and restaurants around Kusatsu. Our room was spacious and clean, with a kotatsu that we really enjoyed. Breakfast had a generous range of dishes, and there was a smoking area outside. I made the most of my first visit to Kusatsu!

The snow-viewing bath on a snowy day was wonderful。The water temperature was just right、all the baths are private、so you can bathe without worrying about anyone around you。The source is the Bandai-kō spring。The owner was also very friendly。 There was a raised-floor table in the room、and it had a nice atmosphere。The room also has air conditioning。
