Crane TSURU

A lovely guesthouse for a road trip, with a particularly spacious bathroom. There are convenience stores, supermarkets, and restaurants nearby, and the location makes it easy to drive to different spots around Kushiro. The host was nice and recommended restaurants for dinner. Highly recommend!

I was glad to find The Crane Guesthouse at the last minute for my trip around Kushiro with my mum. The place was very clean and tidy, and Linda was thoughtful about getting all the amenities ready. The kitchen and bathroom were tidy, and there are toilets on both floors. We drove, which made things easier, though 7-11 and a major drug store are within walking distance. Definitely recommended. I’ve found this guest house to be the best place I’ve stayed in Japan so far. Even getting around is straightforward: the bus stop is a five-minute walk, there are plenty of places to eat nearby, and 7-11 is just two minutes away. It’s outside town, but the price is less than half what hotels in town charge. I rented the electric bike for 1,000 yen a day and had a lovely ride around the marshlands and crane observatory. I saw deer, foxes, and lots of birds. They have two regular bikes for 500 yen a day as well. Communication was easy, and staff came by the evening before to welcome me and give me the bike. I had a single room with the bathroom just outside the door. The place has a fully equipped kitchen, a free coffee machine on each floor, and free laundry with a dryer. They’ve thought of everything a traveller might need.

The host was really friendly and helpful, and the room was very clean. Good location too. I’d definitely recommend staying here.
