Lasting Hotel

We were there with the kids’ hockey team, and the staff were great.

Clean hotel, close to kushiro station.

I managed to get a low rate even though I booked at the last minute. Maybe it was the time of year. I noticed that many hotels in Kushiro include a basic breakfast, perhaps that’s local custom. This one had a standard choice of Japanese, Western, or Chinese breakfast, and it was handy that they provided coffee to take back to my room. At the back of the first floor there’s a large public bath, with a well-equipped open-air section and a relaxing steam sauna. There were plenty of amenities and a water heater on the first floor, so I had what I needed for an overnight stay. My room used gas heating, which was unusual for me. I wasn’t quite sure how to operate it, and the room felt a little chilly.

The room was roomy, with a gas stove, and the facilities, while a little dated, were well maintained. It was a comfortable stay apart from having to figure out dinner. There’s a steam sauna and a semi-open-air bath, too. Just two small issues: the changing room smelled a bit of cigarettes, and restaurants and convenience stores are far away. Still, an excellent business hotel.
