Stay Living NISEKO

A clean, tiny Japanese hotel room with a window that opens, in an area full of dining options. There are two satellite parking lots a short walk away, both with free parking. At check-in, use your RESERVATION number, not the booking ID or other numbers from online booking sites.

Stay Living/The Stay Niseko was in a brilliant spot in Kutchan's restaurant district. We had a fantastic time, with lots of nice food and drink options nearby and a really authentic Japanese feel.

I'd recommend this place to solo travelers, especially if you're renting a car.

My room was clean, but smaller than I'd expected. There were two cups of each kind, even though the photo showed just one, and the mini kitchen was a nice touch. The kitchen roll came in handy too. Even if there's no mini kitchen, I wish they'd provide kitchen roll in the room. There were other amenities, but no gowns that I could find. I didn't read the room instructions, so I can't be sure, but it's probably a good idea to read them, lol. At ¥15,000 for one night without meals, I thought the room was a bit expensive. It was my first stay at an unmanned hotel, and I was a little nervous, though check-in and check-out seemed easy. The problem was that I couldn't check out. I called the front desk, and they told me to look for a check-out slip, but it was missing. Actually, I didn't even know what it looked like, and all I had was a car slip. I was stuck early in the morning. Maybe it was because I'd paid in advance. I don't know if they confirmed it, but I was able to leave. What was that check-out slip supposed to look like? It was really noisy too. You could hear people talking in the hallway. I don't know if it was because the people I'd met were chatting with each other, but they'd start with "hello" and keep going for ages. There were earplugs in the room, so maybe that's why.
