There’s a kids’ room, and the in-room open-air bath and sauna make this a lovely place for families. It’s a seaside hotel in a tourist area, with luxurious rooms. The Japanese meals 🍶 feature mostly fish 🐟, and the hot springs change depending on the time, so you can enjoy them in different ways. ♨️

The rooms were clean, spacious, and new, and breakfast was good. Most of the staff spoke very little English, so knowing some basic Japanese or having a translator ready would help. The kaiseki dinner ingredients weren’t as premium as at other ryokan I’ve stayed in, but the dishes and food pairings were delicious. There were mostly local guests. Check-in and check-out took a while.

This was our second visit, and I like this hotel as well as this particular chain. The hot spring baths are great, the rooms are a good size, and both meals were nice. They’re buffet-style, but you definitely won’t go hungry. The rooms are simple and clean. The chain used to belong to Japan Post Office for employee use, and is now privately owned. These hotels seem to be in good locations and reasonably priced. This one is across the road from Kamogawa Sea World, and at night we could hear a sea lion calling.

The public onsen has lovely views of the Pacific Ocean, and the staff were really kind and friendly. The buffet had a decent selection, as did the self-serve all-you-can-drink. We’ve been looking after a friend’s dog for a month, and it’s been hard to find onsens that take pets. Kamenoi has two rooms set aside especially for guests with pets. They have a large garden area with bark chips and a private bath. Just remember to bring your dog’s vaccination record to show at check-in.

The meals were great, and the rooms were clean and nice. There’s no bath in the room, just a toilet, but the public bath is nice. It’s very close to Kamogawa Sea world.
