Hotel Hanamizuki

The staff were so attentive and welcoming, and the service felt five-star throughout our stay. The comfort was luxurious, and every detail felt just right. One of the finest hotels I’ve stayed at in Japan.

The room was spacious and clean, and there’s a free shuttle all day to the outlet and park. The reservation site is a bit hard to use since it isn’t in English, so you’ll need Google Translate.

We had three Japanese-style rooms, and all of them were very clean, including the washrooms and toilets. They were well stocked with amenities. The in-room bath was a little small, but natural hot spring water came from the tap. We stayed with three preschoolers, and each room seemed to have its own person in charge. This is a well-established ryokan, and the attention was excellent. The best part was the spacious, comfortable hot spring at Taki no Yu, with an open-air bath as well. They disinfected the slippers right there at the onsen. We had dinner in our room, and it was very good. They prepared separate dishes for the children, and the cold sake Shirayuki was especially good. We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant. There were lots of staff around, and whenever I had a problem I could speak to someone near the phone and get help. I borrowed some ointment for insect bites. The kids were very happy and want to return. Thanks to all the staff.

The booking site was a bit difficult to navigate without Japanese, but the hotel itself felt peaceful and the staff were very friendly. We had dinner and breakfast included, plus free onsen access, tickets to nabana no satomugi, which was filled with lights at the time, and access to the theme park. There’s also a fairly large outlet mall nearby. The rooms had a lot of charm, and some have tatami. I found the tatami room surprisingly comfortable, even though you sleep on the floor. The bedding was really good quality, and I slept like a log after a great onsen visit. We only booked one night because we didn’t realize how nice the place would be. I’ll definitely stay longer next time, and maybe try that wild-looking rollercoaster.
