Yuhigaura Onsen Ryokan Uminohana

The kindness from the staff was the best part of our stay. We were treated so warmly the whole time, and the owner was lovely. The inside is gorgeous and has a calm, zen feeling, with a great onsen. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but our stay was a 10/10. I hope people don't underestimate the place because of its exterior.

We stayed in winter, so the little seaside town was very quiet, and the ryokan was quiet too. Dinner was tasty and fresh, though the portions were ridiculously huge, probably our fault. Pick-up service is available. Room: 4 Meals: 4 Onsen: 4 Service: 4.5 Location: 4

The host made us feel so welcome, and even gave us handmade gifts and a facemask before driving us to the station. The dinner and breakfast she prepared were unbelievably delicious, and we were completely full afterward. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, with a sea view and everything we needed. The onsen baths were beautiful, too, with views of the sea. If you're staying in Yuhigaura, this is an incredible place. Thank you for all the hospitality.

I have fond memories of this inn from when my parents brought me here twice more than 10 years ago. I'd heard it had been renovated and had wanted to return. This time I chose the three-crab course, determined to fill up on crab, and I was more than satisfied. They usually serve enough that some gets left over. The building is now in great shape after the renovation. I went to the bath three times because the water temperature was just right. I think the bath was the same as I remembered. There was a clock in the men's bath, but not in the women's, which seemed inconvenient. There were lots of thoughtful touches, and I'll use the inn again on my next crab trip.
