Almont Hotel Kyoto

We stayed four nights and were so glad we chose this place. It was the nicest hotel of our two weeks in Japan. The reception area has lovely seating, and I liked the fall foliage map and leaflets for guests. Staff were incredibly attentive, and the second-floor bath was the nicest one we used on the trip. I’d left my jacket at our previous accommodation, and the staff here contacted that hotel and arranged to have it delivered. Breakfast was huge and great value for the price, and you can even make your own matcha. If you’re reading this, book before it’s too late!

It’s very close to Kyoto station, and I walked about 6-7 minutes from where the KIX airport bus dropped us off. TeamLab Biovortex is right across the street. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were quite decent. The shower had good water pressure, and breakfast had lots of good options, especially the different yuba and tofu dishes. There’s even a make-your-own dorayaki station, which is so cute. The hotel parking is currently closed, but there are plenty of paid lots nearby.

Kind staff and a wonderful room, clean, comfortable, and cozy. Kyoto Station is about a ten-minute walk away, with a 7/11 on the way, and the central location makes it easy to walk to plenty of other places too. I hope I can stay here again when I return to Kyoto.

The room was spacious, and the lobby bathrooms were clean. Beds were comfortable, and the staff were very friendly, even opening the elevator for you. Luggage forwarding was easy, though payment is cash only. There’s a 711 and a lawson close by, as well as an amazing kobe beef burger place. My only complaints were dust under the beds and slightly off temperature control.
