Nagano Plaza Hotel

Being close to the station is the only real advantage. Everything in the room looked very old, and it had an unpleasant smell. The lighting was dim, and there was no dream light option. I’d previously stayed at a different hotel with better facilities.

It’s a budget hotel in an excellent spot, just two minutes from the train station. The twin beds are small, so fitting two people is difficult. We visited in winter and the room felt too cold. The heating seemed to warm only the upper part, while the floor stayed freezing. Breakfast was included, but very basic: rice, som bread, tomato soup, juice, and coffee.

Even a modest, dated place can deserve five stars when it’s kept clean and the staff go out of their way to help. Seren Sadiksha at the front desk was extremely helpful, smart, multilingual, and had a fantastic attitude. She made my trip to Nagano great. Thank you!

A lovely little hotel near the station, with a good breakfast for the price. Everyone was extremely nice, and the amenities were like those at other hotels. Great value!
