Apartment hotel 11 Yasaka

This apartment is in a quiet street away from the main road, but still just a few minutes from bus stops, Gion, several well-known temples, the canal, and the two famous old streets, including Nnenzaka. There are lots of good restaurants around. Lawson is only a 2-minute walk away, handy for picking up things and recharging a Suica card. The whole complex looks good and modern, with key codes for the entrance and apartment door and a lift. Inside, everything felt new and super clean. The beds were big, the bathroom was a good size for Japan, and there was a TV. We managed to fit our big luggage in one corner, so space wasn’t a problem for us. They don’t forward luggage, but you can leave it on each floor. It isn’t monitored, though it seemed quite safe. We loved our stay and the location for Gion. It was a perfect base for enjoying Kyoto’s culture and atmosphere.

We were on the first floor, where rooms are reached from an outside corridor, and the noise was awful. People talking outside sounded like they were right beside me. The door had no soundproofing or seal to block cold air. Even with earplugs, I could feel vibrations from the neighbors upstairs. Ask for an upper-floor room.

Having a washing machine available was a big plus for traveling, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and modern, with large, comfortable showers. It’s a beautiful hotel in a perfect location, with a real traditional Japanese feel. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto.

The rooms are small and have no windows, and management is poor.
