Auberge AZABU

The breakfast was excellent quality and there was plenty of it, and the staff were so kind and personal. We spent three nights at this beautiful, small, secluded Ryokan in Kyoto. Everything felt tranquil, and our room was both lovely and comfortable. They only have five rooms, so don’t hesitate if you can get one.

Aki might be one of the nicest people I’ve met. The whole Auberge Azabu team made us feel welcome with warm, personal, genuine service, and I can’t praise that enough. Thanks to everyone there, you’re the best! The room, location, and breakfast were all amazing too. This is probably the best accommodation I’ve ever stayed in. If you’re planning a trip to Kyoto, I’d highly recommend looking into this boutique hotel. Staying here could be one of the best decisions of your trip.

The little touches were so thoughtful, from the welcome tea ceremony to wine brought to the room and an incense gift when we left. Aki was an incredible host and made my friend and me feel so welcome. We adored her. The location is perfect, less than a five-minute walk from the subway on a quiet street, with easy access to Kyoto’s hotspots. The room was beautiful, well designed, and well stocked. The mattresses were plush, which was a welcome change after Japan’s traditionally firm mattresses. I’ve stayed in some of the highest rated hotels around the world, and I’d put this one among them. Stay here if you’re coming to Kyoto!

Every day there were fresh flowers in our room and different tea cups, and the staff remembered all the little things we mentioned. They were friendly and personable, and the hospitality was incredible, easily 10/10. We got treats and gifts, were treated exceptionally well, and they even made restaurant reservations for us. The rooms look like they’re straight from a magazine. It was one of the best places I’ve stayed, and we’ll stay here again when we return to Kyoto! ❤️
