Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto

I wasn’t a hotel guest, but the tea house and bar made such an impression that I wanted to leave a review. Rino made my afternoon at the tea house lovely. She was one of the nicest people I met in Japan, and since I was the only guest, we got to chat. She shared lots of sightseeing tips. I also got to see the Koi‘s and a gray heron, which made it feel even more special. At the bar one evening, Tina told me about a Maiko performance happening at the hotel the next day. I’m still grateful I got to see it. I hope this reaches you both. You made me feel special even though I wasn’t staying there, and made my time in Kyoto more enjoyable. If I come back, I’ll 100% stay at this hotel. Thank you so much!

The gardens and grounds were beautiful, and the hotel’s location was fabulous. We also enjoyed the relaxing lobby and the evening entertainment there. The food was excellent every day, the rooms were lovely, and the staff were warm, helpful, and engaging. It was our first trip to Japan, and the hotel made those first nights wonderful. A perfect stay in every way. Thank you.

The breakfast buffet was amazing, especially the fluffy blueberry pancakes, which were the best I’ve ever had. The koi pond and landscaping were so peaceful, and every staff member was hospitable and went out of their way to help. The service was incomparable. One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve stayed at, with serene rooms. I’d definitely return.

We’ve just finished our stay at the Four Seasons Kyoto, which ties with the Four Seasons in Hawaii as our favorite hotel ever. The serene garden setting in the middle of Kyoto is beautiful, but it was the people who made the experience feel so special. At check-in, Xienna welcomed us warmly and walked us to our room herself. Kathrine at the concierge helped us find the perfect Christmas ornament for my mom, a tradition we keep on every trip, and gave us great dinner recommendations every night. Not one missed. Thank you Katherine! We had the best massages we’ve ever had, anywhere, with Amu and Yuko at the spa. Tomomi looked after us at breakfast each morning and during the strawberry afternoon tea. She was efficient, always smiling, and so sweet that we looked forward to seeing her every day. The fresh seasonal treats at tea were incredible. Imena, Laura, and Nana from the guest experience team seemed to stay a step ahead and quietly make sure things were right. Yuri, the front office manager, was warm and on top of the details. Shoki from valet helped arrange our transportation and pointed out that our cab had one of the ultra-rare four-leaf clover emblems. Apparently there are only four in the whole city, and they’re considered lucky. We definitely felt lucky on this trip. Everyone made us feel cared for, not just served. The attention was personal and thoughtful from beginning to end. If you’re going to Kyoto, this place is a must. We’ll be dreaming of coming back.
