After long days out walking, we'd come back to iced tea and sweets left by our very kind hosts. It’s a traditional house with everything we needed. The shower is shared, but each bedroom has its own toilet and hand-washing sink with all the amenities, so it was very comfortable. Breakfast was perfect, with both Japanese and more Western choices. An absolute must-stay in Kyoto!

The inn feels like a family home, and Moriya and Yashiko-san were considerate and helpful throughout our stay. It’s a quiet neighborhood, with plenty of small, hole-in-the-wall food spots nearby. Google Translate came in handy, but we never felt out of place. With train and bus stations close by, getting around Kyoto was easy. The Ryokan is over 100 years old, with recently renovated bathrooms. Make sure to choose breakfast when you book: Yoshiko-san makes a generous traditional Kyoto meal, which was our highlight every day. Be on time, since our hosts started cooking after 5 am to fit our schedule. Each evening we came back to fresh tea and different Japanese desserts. That thoughtfulness and generosity made the stay warmer than even the poshest five-star hotel. I'd give it 10 out of 5 and say run, don't walk, to book.

We had the whole upstairs, two rooms for our family of four. It was roomy but still cozy, with comfortable futons, clean modern renovated bathrooms and toilets, and a view of the zen garden from our windows. The inn is quiet and peaceful, yet restaurants, bus stops, a train station, and a great nearby onsen are all conveniently close. Moriya-san and Yoshiko-san welcomed us warmly into their beautiful Ryokan, which is over 100 years old, and treated us like family. Each morning brought an elaborate home-cooked breakfast 🍱 and local tips for avoiding Kyoto crowds ⛩️. When we came back, there were thoughtful choices of sweets 🍡, warm hojitcha tea 🍵, and clean rooms ready for us 🎋. They even did our laundry and offered to drive us to Kyoto station 🚗. Those kindnesses went beyond what they needed to provide, and we hope they weren’t a burden. Staying at Gallery Nozawa Inn became the highlight of our Kyoto trip. We loved our time here and will miss it. There's nothing negative to say. I only wish we'd had more time to sit and chat with Moriya-san and Yoshiko-san. Wishing them good health and happiness until we meet again. 🌸🤍

The breakfasts were delicious, and it was such a help to have our laundry done. We also came back from sightseeing to find sweet treats and tea waiting for us. The room was clean and really comfortable, but what we'll remember most is Mario-san and his wife's kindness. Of all the places we stayed during our two weeks in Japan, this was our family's favorite. We're so glad we chose this house in Kyoto and hope we can visit again before too long. Wishing you both all the best!

After walking from JR Kyoto Isetan in the hot sun, my friend and I got a lovely welcome. The owner speaks English well and brought us iced tea and pudding, a really nice touch. Our futon was very comfortable, and the room had pajamas and towels. Breakfast was both tasty and filling. I visited on the 10th of the month, and if I come back to Kyoto, this is the first place I'll plan to stay.
