The hotel is close to countless restaurants and shops, with Nishiki Market nearby, and I’d definitely return on my next trip to Kyoto. Our stay also included a late checkout benefit. For laundry, the hotel credit didn’t apply, but there’s a laundromat less than a five-minute walk away and it costs much less than using the hotel. The executive lounge was relaxing at breakfast, with only a few groups there when we visited, and I thought the food choices were excellent. My wife used the $100 hotel credit (14.5k JPY) at the spa and had high praise for it. We booked through the AMEX hotel collection. Since it was a busy weekend, we understood that early check-in wasn’t possible, but the staff did their best to get our room ready quickly. Every staff member was professional and greeted us warmly whenever we saw them. The property and room were beautiful enough to make you want to remodel your own room in the same style.

KANA’s 100-minute massage was the most relaxed I’ve ever felt. She was warm and kind from the start, and her technique moved between soothing and firm in just the right way. She seemed to know where I needed attention. I left feeling lighter, calmer, and restored. Hilton Kyoto’s spa has a calm, elegant atmosphere that felt relaxing as soon as I walked in. If you’re staying here, I’d recommend booking with Kana. It was a highlight of my Kyoto trip.

Yuka welcomed me so warmly at the Hilton Kyoto Hotel SPA. I felt at home straight away. The massage was gentle and just right, and I feel 100% again, about 20 years younger! It’s one of the best massages I’ve had. Honestly, I can’t think of anything bad to say, it was perfect. 10/10. If I come back to Kyoto and want to relax again, I know where to go. Good wishes!

The location was a real plus, an easy walk from the Kamogawa River and several convenience stores. The staff were exceptionally friendly and spoke great English. The rest was more mixed. At Executive Lounge breakfast, nobody greeted or seated us, and when we found a table ourselves it had no napkins or utensils. Housekeeping also seemed poorly coordinated: staff asked to clean even though the room had already been serviced that morning. The cleaning products or perfume were far too strong, and the smell lingered unpleasantly for the rest of the day. Street noise came into the room at night and affected my sleep. Better soundproofing, or quieter room assignments for Diamond members, would help. For the price and category, I expected a more seamless, professional stay. It was okay, but not more than that.
