Hotel Emion Kyoto

There are lots of restaurants nearby and several 7-11 stores, with plenty of bus routes around and just a few minutes' walk to the JR station. Transportation is very convenient. Our room was quiet, comfortable, and spacious. It was well maintained and thoroughly cleaned every day, which made the stay really pleasant. Highly recommended.

Breakfast had good-quality food, but the selection leaned heavily toward traditional Japanese dishes, with lots of rice and few hot Western choices. Fried or scrambled eggs, or a light noodle soup, would have made it more enjoyable for international guests. The hotel itself is lovely and comfortable, with spacious, clean, thoughtfully designed rooms. I found the onsen relaxing and well maintained, a great way to unwind after sightseeing. It's a little outside the city center, but that made the surroundings calm and peaceful. Getting around was convenient enough, and the hotel's quality made the extra distance worthwhile. HOTEL Emion Kyoto is a solid and pleasant choice, though a bit expensive. With the roomy rooms, soothing onsen, and warm atmosphere, I had a very good stay. A more varied breakfast would bring it close to perfect.

The location is the one real drawback. It isn't hard to reach, but it's away from the main sightseeing areas, so you'll need to plan a bit. Apart from that, the hotel offers good value for a relaxed stay. The interior spaces felt calm and easy to unwind in. The hotel was modern and well cared for, with rooms that felt spacious for a Kyoto city hotel and were laid out thoughtfully. Staff were always polite and efficient, and the atmosphere felt organized without being stiff. The common areas and baths were clean and easy to use, adding to the comfort.

We had a fabulous stay at The Emion, though I wish we could have stayed longer. The spa was amazing and really relaxing. Breakfast had lots of choice and was excellent. There are great dining facilities on the first and second floors, and the sky deck offers wonderful views of Kyoto.
