I stayed for four nights in November 2025. The building has fewer than 15 rooms, and the apartment-style setup was nice. I got to check in a little early, most staff spoke multiple languages, and my room was clean and large. I liked the wooden tub and, as a larger person, was glad I fit in it. The washer-dryer was convenient, especially compared with my friends’ large hotel, where only four machines served the whole place. I also enjoyed the rooftop terrace views, and the hotel is right by a local train line. I barely used the kitchen. A few things made the stay frustrating. The combined air conditioner and heater was set to blow hot air, and staff couldn’t switch it to cooling because the whole system runs together. In fall and winter, there’s no cooling option, and no windows to open. The washing machine was hard to operate, and my clothes needed another drying cycle. There was no iron or ironing board in the room. I asked several times about forwarding my luggage. Staff said they could do it if I brought it to the desk, but at checkout they said they couldn’t send it to my next hotel. It may have been a language misunderstanding. In Japan, luggage shipping can be prepaid or paid on arrival, and most hotels only accept prepaid shipments. This hotel offered the pay-on-arrival option. They initially wouldn’t call my next hotel, but when they saw how frustrated and disappointed I was, they eventually did. The next hotel said it only accepted prepaid luggage shipments. Staff then suggested Family Mart, which worked, though I relied heavily on the cashier there. If you’re okay with the things I mentioned, I think you’d enjoy this hotel.

The room stayed very clean throughout our visit, the staff were friendly and helpful, and we really appreciated their help sending and receiving our luggage through Takkyubin service. The location was great, right by a subway station, with Family Mart across the road, a lovely ramen restaurant next door, and a park we enjoyed visiting each day. The roof terrace was nice too. At first glance, the apartment looked lovely and made us say “wow,” but a closer look turned up a few problems. The washing machine and toaster weren’t easy to use, we couldn’t get the stovetop working, and the charging dock by one bed didn’t work. These were small issues and probably user error; we didn’t ask the staff about them, though they may have been able to help. The staff don’t speak much English, but we don’t speak much Japanese either. Thank you, HotelKADO!

A very comfortable hotel, with a kitchen, washer-dryer, and cypress bath tub. The subway is just two minutes away. The rooftop terrace view was the highlight, with sunrise on one side and sunset on the other.

The room made our four-night stay especially comfortable: plenty of space, huge cozy beds, tatami mats, a wooden soaking tub, and a kitchen that actually worked well. I was glad to have a workstation, and the washer-dryer came in handy too. Getting around was easy, with the subway and buses right next door, shops and the Imperial Palace across the road, and Nijo Castle about a 10-minute walk away. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Japan so far. Great for a family or group, and I’d happily recommend it.

We switched here from a cramped, uncomfortable hotel nearby, and I’m so glad we did. The room was a delight, comfortable and much more spacious, and we slept really well. I wish we could’ve stayed longer. Marin san was a very nice clerk, and the owner was generous. There’s a pretty little in-room garden that looks lovely in both daylight and at night. The room also had a washer-dryer, a large cypress bathtub, a shower with strong water pressure, and a kitchenette stocked with supplies, plus a fridge, microwave, and full toaster oven. The distinctive dining table and lovely plates, cups, and bowls were nice touches. I noticed plenty of thoughtful details too, from the door that stays open when pushed outward to three-prong sockets and USB ports by the beds. The hotel is new and beautiful, close to a subway station and across the main road from a convenience store. Traffic noise hardly bothered us. The staff were friendly and helpful, and spoke decent English. Our superior twin room was gorgeous. For such a low price, the value was hard to believe.
