The staff were lovely, and the room was basic but roomy enough to serve as a base. I even appreciated that they supplied a ceramic coffee mug. It's a bit of a walk from both Kyoto Station and Gojo Station. I picked it because it was cheap as chips, so I shouldn't have expected much. The rooms have definitely seen better days.

They accepted our luggage from another hotel but wouldn't take it for transfer to the next one, so we had to get a taxi to the nearest baggage depot. Avoid Live Max if luggage transfer is something you need. The toilet drain also smelled.

The manager was a fantastic guy and made my night in Kyoto. The hotel was priced very fairly. Try the Yakitori restaurant a few doors down. Thanks from your friend in Canada.

The rooms on the top floor have a really good view, but the hotel is too far from the center area and it's hard to communicate with the staff.

The staff were well mannered, and the hotel was clean with good precautions for the corona virus. Free wi-fi too. I had an excellent experience here, it's a good hotel.
