Hotel The M’s Kyoto

The rooms are modern and really clean, with enough space to feel comfortable instead of cramped. I’ve stayed here both times I’ve been to Kyoto, and it’s my favorite hotel there so far. It’s budget friendly and very convenient for Kyoto Station, which means I don’t have to drag my luggage far. It’s not right in the main area, but the train or bus ride there is quick.

We enjoyed our three-night, four-day stay. The area was quiet, and the staff welcomed us warmly at check-in and check-out. It’s close to Kyoto Station and Aeon Mall Kyoto, which made finding food easier. Definitely worth considering.

The lounge was the real highlight for me: it’s huge and works well as a shared space to hang out, eat takeaway, or get some work done. I spent hours there, and the 100-yen machine coffee was some of the best I’ve had. I needed to work during this trip, so I booked one of the larger rooms. The hotel is literally a block from the main railway station. Shopping and nightlife are a bit farther away, but it was nice to spend the day in that area and take a cab back to quieter surroundings in the evening. The staff were lovely too, and I’d absolutely stay here again.

There’s coin laundry available, and the location is convenient, about a five-minute walk from Kyoto Station and the bus stop. We got a wonderful, spacious room with a really big bed for Japan, plus a nice toilet that still feels relatively new.
