There are plenty of shops around, and you can rent bikes too. The guest house is clean and well maintained, in a location with very good connections.

We stayed 2 nights and only really used the place to sleep, so hearing people in other rooms wasn't an issue for us. The rooms were spacious, everything was clean and smelled good, and the shared bathrooms were clean too, with 2 toilets and 3 showers. It's more like a homestay and quite far from the city centre, but that does get you away from the city hustle. Despite the negative reviews, we had no problems. We messaged through the booking app and arranged our check-in time in advance. We were charged Kyoto tax, but that seemed more like a booking.com issue than an extra fee.

The room itself was decent, but poor service and missing basics made the stay inconvenient. There were no dental kits, water bottles, or universal adapter, and just 2 charging ports for 8 people. With only one shared washroom/bathroom for 8 rooms, the facilities were limited. The location is on the outskirts of Kyoto, far from the city center. The owner charges extra fees, 200 yen/person as taxes and 1000 yen/hour for late check-in/out. Hidden fees and the lack of facilities make this a bad choice. NOT RECOMMENDED.

I wouldn't recommend this place. I wasn't told about a tax for staying one night, and the other places I visited in Kyoto didn't charge me extra. I'm sharing this so you can avoid a bad experience.
