Mimaru Kyoto Kawaramachi Gojo Hotel

We made good use of the shared area for breakfast and sometimes dinner, and the room was clean and roomy for our family. The staff were friendly and helped us arrange luggage transfer. There’s a bit of a walk to the train stations, though there are plenty of food choices and sights nearby, plus a supermarket and 7-11 for quick meals and essentials. We had a lovely stay and would come back to Kyoto. I’d recommend it.

The hotel has a laundry room with six pairs of top-loading washers and dryers, vending machines, a kids’ room, and a smoking room. Right across the street, there’s a 24-hour supermarket with fresh food, prepared meals, ingredients for cooking, and everyday basics. The rooms have two induction stoves, cookware and utensils, and a separate toilet and bath area. Shampoo, conditioner, and soap are provided in the shower. What stood out most was the service at Mimaru Kyoto Kawaramachi Gojo. The front desk team were capable, sincere, and very helpful, and the English-speaking staff explained things carefully. Mimaru also has its own luggage delivery between its hotels in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, with same-day service for morning pickup and afternoon drop-off. For other places in Japan, including airports, they work with Yamato Kuroneko for next-day delivery. I hope they open many more locations.

The little activities for kids were a real highlight. They could take part in games and challenges for small prizes, and my children were genuinely excited about them. It gave us some lovely memories at the hotel as well as during our time exploring Kyoto. We drove and found several coin-operated car parks nearby, around 1,400 yen per 24-hour period, which seemed reasonable for central Kyoto. The hotel is near Kawaramachi, with shops, restaurants, and attractions close by. Our room at MIMARU Kyoto Kawaramachi was practical, clean, and spacious by Japanese standards, with room for everyone to unwind after sightseeing. The whole place felt welcoming and thoughtfully set up for families. Its cleanliness matched the praise we’d seen online, and I can see why it’s so highly rated by families with children. It was a comfortable, convenient place to stay with kids.

The rooms had plenty of space, were spotless, and felt carefully set up for people traveling. There were kitchen facilities, laundry options, and useful travel items, with lots of little details that made being away from home easier. Families should find it welcoming and safe, and we were able to relax knowing everyone would be comfortable. But it was the staff who made Mimaru feel so special. They helped us with train directions, local restaurant ideas, luggage transport, and all sorts of questions, always taking the time to explain things kindly. They seemed to care about making our trip around Japan go well, not just about our hotel stay, and took a lot of the stress out of traveling. I’ve traveled a lot, and their hospitality was on another level. The location was great too, near train stations and many of Kyoto’s nicest areas. By the end, the staff felt less like hotel staff and more like part of the Mimaru family. The warmth and professionalism are hard to forget. It’s tough to imagine choosing another place after staying here. 11/10, the gold standard for hospitality. Prove me wrong.
