The kitchen has cooking tools and the washing machine was really handy. There’s no parking on site, so you’ll need to use paid parking, though nearby business hotels charge for parking too. It’s a quiet spot at a comfortable distance from downtown, which could work well for a group of friends without worrying much about bothering neighbors. People who are particular about cleanliness may notice dust showing through gaps in the furniture, grime that won’t go away in the bathrooms, or a moldy smell from an air conditioner that hasn’t been cleaned. Japanese guests who notice small details should keep that in mind.

We felt at home in this lovely, comfortable two-story house. It’s fully equipped and works well for four, though five can fit without much trouble. Kyoto Station is around a 15-minute walk away, with a bus stop and subway station nearby too. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. We stayed in Kyoto for a week and were happy with our choice, using the house as a base for day trips.
