The area is the standout, especially in spring when the stream right outside is beautiful. The room is spacious, clean, and built in a traditional Japanese style, and the staff are helpful and understand English well. Getting around has a drawback, though: Kyoto Station is a bit far on foot, and the nearest metro stop is Kiyomizu Gojo.

For a reasonably priced taste of a traditional Kyoto house, this place worked perfectly for me. The street is quiet, there’s a good onsen just a few metres away, and both Kyoto station and Kiyomizu-dera are within walking distance. The tatami room was lovely, with a teapot ready to use. There’s also a kitchen stocked with utensils, plus a large fridge, microwave, and kettle. Great value.

We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. The owner was lovely and even gave us a small present. It’s a traditional ryokan with tatami and futon beds, in a quiet neighborhood. Our room was spacious and very clean, with a nice river view, and the bathroom, showers, WiFi, and other facilities were all provided free. A great experience.

It’s cheap, clean, comfortable, and has WiFi. Kyoto station and the city center, with its restaurants and bars, are within walking distance. The shower schedule was odd, and the cleaning staff were rude. Still, I’d recommend staying here.

Really liked this place, it was comfortable and close enough to walk to Kyoto Station and town. You can also get around by bus with a day pass from Kyoto Station. Have a happy stroll! 😘😘😘
