Miru Kyoto Nishiki

The people here are what set it apart. Every interaction with the front desk, from check-in to check-out, felt warm and pleasant. One staff member patiently tried to reach a sushi place for me, and when that didn’t work, recommended one personally. It turned out great. Another shared the city events calendar, which helped me catch a summer parade I’d otherwise have missed. The croissants on each floor were a sweet touch for a pre-breakfast bite. I’d wondered how it could earn consistent five-star reviews when pricier hotels in that category sometimes fall short, and now I get it. The location and nearby food and cafes have already been praised plenty. With so many places to stay in the city, it’s the staff who make Miru special. I’d choose it again without hesitation.

Nishiki Market is just around the corner, and the neighborhood is packed with cafes, shops, and restaurants. The subway is about a 10-minute walk away. The room was pretty big and the bed was comfortable. We needed the free laundry machine on the first floor, which was usually occupied during the day, but we managed to wash clothes in the evening. The staff were helpful whenever we needed anything. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

The staff went above and beyond, and the rooms were clean, neat, and inviting. It’s close to shops and places to eat, with a great bakery around the corner. On my second stay I got three stars because the showerhead had a minor problem. That traditional room was hard on my 70-year-old joints, and it had no real windows or view, so it felt boxed in. The other time I stayed, I had a street view and natural light.

The room was spotless and very spacious, with every detail taken care of. The hotel is clean and lovely, and the staff were extremely helpful with all our questions and arranged luggage delivery very well. Having a laundry machine there was super convenient. I’d gladly return.
