Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Station

The staff did their best to help when Yamato Transport damaged my luggage. We couldn’t find a solution in the end, but I appreciated how much they tried to assist. In my opinion the service was good, and the rooms were nice and fairly spacious by Japanese standards. The location right next to Kyoto station is great. Highly recommend.

The location made getting around easy, with train, subway, bus, and walking options nearby. Kyoto Station was only a few minutes away on foot, and there were plenty of restaurants and shops in the surrounding area. The room was spotless and quite spacious for Japan, and the bed felt great after a day seeing Kyoto. My wife, our four family out-laws, and I had a lovely stay at Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Station. Check-in and check-out were seamless, and the front desk team were welcoming and friendly. They acknowledged us whenever we came or went, and were helpful with directions to local sites and transport options. Given the price, cleanliness, pleasant staff, and location, we look forward to staying here again next time in Kyoto.

The staff at the Kyoto Station branch were so friendly and helpful, and patiently did their best with a request they weren’t very familiar with: arranging an airport limousine reservation to Kansai Airport. I managed to reserve my seat in advance. They also surprised me with a birthday gift during my stay, which was such a thoughtful gesture. I’m very grateful for all the kind help. I stayed at both Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Kawaramachi and the Kyoto Station branch, and the branches can send luggage between them for 500 yen per piece, which was really convenient. The hotel is literally a stone’s throw from Kyoto Station and very accessible for trips to Uji or Arashiyama. My room was excellent and very spacious, with room for a table and to fully open a 28-inch suitcase. Even the humidifier’s filter was spotless, a sign of how well maintained the room was. There’s no public bath, but the bathroom was very clean and spacious, with a bathtub and great water pressure. The B1 lounge was a quiet place to relax after a tiring day. I’ll definitely stay here again if I visit Kyoto. Thanks to everyone I met, you guys are the best!!!

The room was clean and the bedding comfortable, and the staff were friendly. One handy feature is that you can check on the room TV whether the laundry room has a vacancy. For the convenient location and modest rates, I found it a good value choice. I was lucky to be invited to a matcha ceremony at the hotel. It was surprisingly fun and memorable, and it’s rare to get this kind of chance to participate even at luxury hotels in Japan. From my conversation with the staff in my limited Japanese, I learned it was part of a special campaign to improve the customer experience. I appreciated that creative sense of omotenashi (hospitality), and thought the initiative worked really well. One thing to know, early check-in costs extra even if the room is ready. It’s easy to fill the time in Kyoto, though.
