The downstairs bath was great and there was plenty of space, but the house was dusty and dated, and we found rats. We could hear them above us in the ceiling, then saw them scurrying through the dining area and kitchen. It got so bad that we left early and booked somewhere else.

It’s a cozy Japanese house, but the price is high, the water pressure is very low, and the walls are extremely thin. Not every bedroom has air conditioning, so I wouldn’t recommend it for more than five or six people. That way, you can avoid the one “bedroom” without AC.

The inn is roomy, and the futons were clean, but I wouldn't recommend staying here in summer. When I arrived tired from traveling, I found lots of maggots around the bathroom and had to clean it myself late at night, which delayed my sleep. Then cockroaches showed up three days running. The drain also smelled quite strong, and I spent the stay worrying about bugs and sleeping badly. When I contacted the inn, they seemed to treat me like a nuisance and stopped replying partway through. About the maggots, they told me, "Please clean up after yourself." I asked them to arrange somewhere else for me to stay, but they said they couldn't. The refund was negligible, and I was disappointed by how insincere their communication and response felt.
