Ryokan Nenrinbo

We had a great stay at this ryokan. The staff were very helpful, and the price was reasonable. Breakfast was traditional and delicious, and we tried dinner on our last night, which was delicious too. The onsen was nice, though I think it could use a few extras: an ice bath, an electric massage sofa, and a fresh milk machine. We’ll be back! 💕

The bathhouse views were stunning, and the staff were attentive and kind. The beds are on the floor, as you'd expect in a traditional ryokan, and there’s a free shuttle to the Golden temple. Such a beautiful location, and the hotel and staff went well beyond what we expected. Breakfast was lovely. We skipped dinner here and went to a local restaurant right down the street, where a wonderful Japanese woman made us the best traditional Teppanyaki.

First trip to Kyoto with my friends, and this place was amazing. The rooms, service, and view were all fantastic. A great spot to wind down after a long trip.

It’s a little out of the way, but worth it if you’re after a traditional ryokan stay. The free morning shuttle into the city was really helpful, and everyone working there was kind and helpful. We paid for both dinner and breakfast. They were filling, though be ready to try lots of different foods. The onsen was really nice and not busy, and they allow heavy tattoos, which is useful if you’re having trouble finding a tattoo-friendly bath.
