Rinn Gion yasakamae

We arrived to find that the place was one bedroom, with everyone expected to share that room. I’d booked for seven adults, although it’s rated for nine, and the listing gave us the impression there would be five rooms and five beds. We’re used to Japanese bedding and had expected two twin rooms and at least two tatami rooms. Instead, they suggested renting extra futons and sleeping in the dining room, which we found only had seating for four. They wouldn’t acknowledge that the website was misleading or offer another solution. We struggled to find alternative accommodation, while they expected all of us to share a bedroom. They didn’t offer any options despite having dozens of hotels in the area, and charged the full amount even though they rented the property out again. We had an awful time. I’d never recommend or stay with Rinn group again.

Right in the middle of Kyoto Gion, truly the center of the center. It’s in excellent condition, fully equipped, and the service overall is among the best!

There’s an outdoor tub that’s a nice touch, and the shower is excellent. The place comfortably sleeps 4 to 6, although two beds share a room. It’s a nice accommodation close to a lively commercial and restaurant hub, and I’d recommend it if you want nearby evening and night life. It can get a little loud at night from nearby traffic, but it didn’t disturb our sleep.

Checking out was incredibly easy, and I had no trouble with the location. There’s a bus stop and station nearby, plus plenty of convenience stores and restaurants. The one irritation was being woken once at night by loud motorbikes, maybe because it’s close to a major road. Even so, I was very satisfied.
