The apartment was a great discovery. It’s spacious, has a lovely bathroom and a living room with ceiling, and everything was provided, from shampoo, dish soap, and laundry soap to pajamas. The beds were very comfortable, which is rare in Japan. I highly recommend it. The location is a little outside the city center, but the metro station right next door made that no problem for us. At first the check-in process seemed a bit laborious, but the apartment is a seven-minute walk from Kyoto station, and they offered us free transport afterward to bring us to the rental.

We stayed for a week in this spectacular apartment. It had everything we needed and was a lovely way to experience a typical Japanese home. We’d definitely stay here again.

I’d never stayed in a traditional townhouse before. It had been renovated thoroughly, and was even cleaner than I expected. It’s a bit pricey, but I think it’s a wonderful place to stay in Kyoto.
