I found Ryokan hostel at the last minute after the place I was meant to stay was terrible, and this one turned out fantastic. It’s spacious and beautiful, very clean, has great amenities, and sits in an amazing, central location. Staff are onsite and they change the towels every day. I’ve run out of compliments. I did everything on foot, with lots of the main things to do close by. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in!
The hostel was spotless and the beds were comfortable, so I had a great stay. It was quiet and calm while still being close to everything, which made the Kyoto location perfect for me.
A lovely hostel in a very central spot, near bus stops, the subway station and Gion. The facilities were clean and comfortable, and fresh towels were provided each day. The only hiccup was that the dryer on the 4th floor didn’t dry our clothes very well. It wasn’t a big deal, since the laundromat across the street was extremely well kept and useful. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone visiting this part of Kyoto.
I really enjoyed staying at The Ryokan Hostel Gion in Kyoto. Everything was spotless, including the showers and bathrooms, and the welcoming staff made the place feel cozy and friendly. It was easy to unwind after a day exploring the city. The bedroom space is on the small side, but comfortable and convenient for a short stay. A warm, clean option in a good location.
I spent a week here in a bed in the 24 bed dorm and had no problems. The facilities were alright and the showers were clean. Each morning around 10am, staff handed out fresh towels and checked that everything was okay. I can definitely recommend this hostel!
