The hotel is near Toji subway station, so it’s a good choice if you’re not driving. You can see into the bathroom through the windows, though. The coffee or tea maker was dirty and hadn’t been cleaned after the previous user. You can leave your luggage at their centre near the hotel, and the hotel will send it to your destination.

We stayed here with family and were very satisfied. It’s a pretty, private place on a quiet street, and the cleaning and maintenance were well done. The heating felt a bit weak, so it would probably be cold in the middle of winter. It’s right in front of Toji Station and you can walk from Kyoto Station, though the walk may be tough with lots of luggage or with elderly relatives or young children.

The house felt clean and welcoming, with a traditional Japanese style. Staying there made for a different kind of Kyoto experience.

Having a kitchen and being close to the station made it easy to settle in and relax. I’d wanted to try a stylish standalone house for ages, so I was happy we got to stay in one.

Getting around was convenient, and the separate houses had a traditional Japanese look. They were well equipped too.
