We loved coming back here at the end of the day, after facing Kyoto's crush of tourists. It's a peaceful spot away from the bustle, next to the Imperial Palace, and about a ten-minute walk from a subway stop. The rooms are spacious, with a traditional Japanese feel. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and spoke English. A lovely stay at this adorable boutique hotel, and I'd definitely recommend it.

The suite was roomy, spotless, and had all the amenities I could want. It’s a lovely, cozy place, though staying a long time might get uncomfortable if you’re not used to tatami and the low chairs and table. Breakfast is served at that table, too. The Wi-Fi was weak and getting online was sometimes a hassle, and I didn’t think breakfast was worth the price.

I enjoyed chatting with the front desk staff over the free evening drinks. They were friendly and glad to offer sightseeing tips, too. The room was nice, and the bath had plenty of space.

It’s a little away from the city center, though the park and Imperial Palace are very close. I’m not Japanese, so I can’t say whether the room is typical, but it and the hotel are beautiful. The welcome was very pleasant, and the room was magnificent. I recommend it!

For the price, I was very happy with the hotel’s facilities and the staff’s service. They provided plenty of amenities, including towels. The room felt dry, so I wish they’d put a humidifier in ahead of time. I’d also have liked a thin but warm blanket, and I don’t think the potted plants in the bathroom are needed.
