It’s a lovely boutique hotel in a quiet neighborhood. Many attractions are walkable, and there’s a train nearby. The rooms are very large for Kyoto, and the bathrooms are especially nice. The spa was a letdown, though. The private dome on the roof is a nice idea, but I didn’t feel there was much to justify the extra ¥8,000 service charge. Otherwise, it was a beautiful hotel, and the staff were excellent, welcoming guests warmly throughout the stay.

We booked the rooftop sauna for one night, and it was totally worth it. Inside the dome, you pour water over heated rocks to make steam, then switch between that and the cold bath. It felt great, and the city views are decent. Great hotel and service.

The King room was clean and nice. It doesn’t have clear windows you can open, but the frames let in outside light and add to the look. The hospitality was better than at some five-star hotels. We got a warm welcome with hot towels and tea, and a staff member showed us around the room and its amenities. Whenever we went near the counter, the staff were already standing by and ready to help.

Dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the rooftop sauna made a lovely retreat. I also really enjoyed the massages. Our room was cozy and thoughtfully designed, and the bathtub was peaceful and relaxing. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and helped make our Kyoto experience a positive one. Excellent service all around. I’d highly recommend staying here.

The complimentary minibar was a thoughtful touch, stocked with drinks and snacks that made unwinding in our stylish, comfortable room even nicer. The room’s design and amenities added to the luxurious feel. The staff were warm and helpful from check-in through check-out, offering local tips and helping with requests. Their kindness made the stay special. The Junei Kyoto is hospitable, well located, and beautifully designed. I’d return in a heartbeat and recommend it to other travelers. A truly memorable stay! 🌿🍵
