The vintage feel of the rooms makes it seem like you’ve stepped into a simpler time, though everything you need is modern and convenient. The owner was fun to be around and helpful the whole stay, and even showed us how to win at the pachinko machine. The guesthouse is nicely decorated, and the cat is super kawaii. It’s about a 10-minute walk to food, a bathhouse, bars, and Kyoto’s main station. Had a great time and can’t wait to come back!

Hisashi-san was so kind, even helping us get our luggage back from the airport after it went missing. The guesthouse smelled amazing, and the rooms were clean, comfy, and a great price. You can choose between Japanese-style and Western-style rooms. Maro-chan was really cute too. Highly recommended.

Parkside Umekoji works really well for a longer stay, with a cooking range, microwave, and washing machine. There are good places to eat if you follow the road toward the station.
