The people at the front desk are terrific, and the location made getting around easy. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the main train station, just a few minutes to the river, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Bus stops are close too. I liked the downstairs space, with lots of places to sit and eat, plus Coke and coffee machines, which you don’t often find. Since this place attracts a backpacker crowd, it’s easy to strike up conversations and meet people. The 7-11 directly across the street is a real bonus for cheap food you can bring downstairs. I can’t say enough good things about the hotel. I’d definitely return.

I loved the neighborhood, with its great bars and food spots to pop into, and the room worked well for a solo traveler. I could open my bag, and there was a place to hang clothes at the end of the day. The bed and pillows were nice. The shampoo and conditioner were good, though the coffee wasn’t. I also loved that the window opened, and it was quiet enough to leave it open all night. The Keihan Line is a three-minute walk away and goes to Osaka. Kyoto Station and TeamLab are each about a 10-minute walk. It was a perfect base for wandering around Kyoto. I really enjoyed my stay and will come back.

The hotel doesn’t serve breakfast. There’s a shared area by reception with hot and cold drinks, plus a microwave for making your own food. Not many restaurants are open for breakfast in the morning, but the 7/11 across the street has surprisingly good food. It’s a simple, basic place for a short stay, in a quiet area near the metro and about a 15-minute walk from Kyoto Station.

The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful, and made me feel welcome during my recent stay. The room was the main downside: extremely small and narrow. It was fine for one person but would feel cramped with two. The online photos don’t really show how tiny it is. Even so, I had a good experience overall.

From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. The room was clean, comfortable, well maintained, and surprisingly spacious compared with many hotels in Japan. We had a wonderful stay in Kyoto and would gladly choose this hotel again.
