The rooms are spacious and clean, and the amenities show great attention to detail. But the bed is what really stood out. Unbelievable, and I’ve never seen pillows like those. Our favorite hotel in Kyoto.

It’s a great base for exploring central Kyoto, but a few things were frustrating. The TV has a maximum volume that’s too low to hear properly, and you can’t change it. You also don’t really control the room temperature. The staff were polite enough, though the hospitality felt lacking compared with other places I stayed in Japan. I assumed the staff might be burnt out from tourism. Around 7 AM each morning, there were some drunk people in the streets. That’s common in the area and not the hotel’s fault.

This room is amazing. The double twin is actually two double beds, and the shower is in its own room, heated like a steam room. I’ve never seen a toilet like this one.

We had a great three-day stay in Kyoto and didn’t run into any issues. Everything was within walking distance from this perfect location. The room got a bit hot, but we could open the windows and adjust the temperature as needed. They also provide pajamas and slippers for the room, and the showers have heaters. I’d definitely recommend it to friends or family visiting Kyoto.

Yasaka Shrine was close enough to walk to, and public transit made getting around easy. The neighborhood was so quiet, with no street noise, and our room had plenty of space and comfortable beds. We'd happily choose this place again on another trip to Kyoto.
