The river view was the best part, especially with the train crossing over it in the open landscape. There was even a timetable posted, and in warmer weather you could probably fish there for flathead or sea bass. We stayed at the RV park, where the toilets and showers were very clean. There aren't any convenience stores close by, though I found a little local shop tucked away somewhere easy to miss. A nearby shrine gave me a slightly ominous feeling. I don't know its name or what people say about it, and figured it was better not to get involved in things that aren't my business. It's a really nice spot. I'll come back.
The staff were friendly, and the restrooms were much cleaner and more stylish than I expected. I found this campsite while looking for somewhere to fish, and the good reviews convinced me to give it a try. The location worked out well and I had a great time fishing. The draft beer by the glass was a nice bonus. I can't make it back this year, but I'd like to return another time. 🏕️
The group staying there kept making noise from the daytime right through late at night, which was disappointing. It would help to have at least a quiet-hours rule. The place itself is clean, has a lovely view, and is good for fishing. The staff are really friendly too.
We used the free campsite and found the toilets, showers, and cooking area all new and very clean. There was a proper spot for rubbish collection too, which showed the staff had put thought into the place. The setting is fantastic, looking out over Mt. Yura, the Tango Railway, and the sea of Kyoto. We'll definitely be back.
In summer, the river mouth right in front of the campground is handy for swimming and playing in the water. The showers are open around the clock. They're a little small, with two for men and two for women, but clean, and the staff take good care of the place. It's a quiet, cozy, reasonably priced campground overlooking the Yura River Bridge. We paid just ¥4,500 on a Sunday. You can't park next to your site, so moving your things can be a bit of a struggle. Handcarts are available to rent, though the sandy ground means the small-wheeled carts often get stuck.
