Our room was clean and comfortable, and having a Private Onsen made for a really relaxing stay. We also loved the complimentary activities, including the Karuga performance and matcha tea ceremony. The welcome was wonderful from the start. A staff member was waiting at the car park, and several people came over as soon as we pulled in to help with our luggage. Everyone we dealt with was polite, friendly, and helpful, whether answering questions, showing us around, or helping with our bags. Special thanks to Uekuri and Kanna for making sure our different dietary requirements were fully met at meals. Their care and warmth made dining especially enjoyable. We heard KAI Resorts has many locations around Japan, and we'll look out for them when we return. The resort felt warm and inviting, and our stay was memorable. We'd happily recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, delightful experience.

Set in the Japanese countryside between Izumo and Matsue, the location worked very well for sightseeing. This was a wonderful spa experience, with impressive attention and care from the staff. Many employees spoke English, which made things easy for us. The food and its presentation were five star, and the activities felt authentically Japanese.

Matsue is really far from Izumo, so be ready for a long slow train ride or a big cab fare if you're coming from there. Even with that in mind, this was well worth it. The rooms are amazing, the staff are great, and the meal was excellent. In New York, you'd probably pay around $150 or more per person for a meal like that, and get worse fish.
