It’s roomy, and the staff were all kind and helpful. I visited in the hot season and there were insects, but the staff took care of them nicely. The facilities are a little old and have that familiar smell of a grandmother’s house, so it’s a good fit if you don’t mind that.

There was hair left in the bathtub from the previous guest, so I skipped a bath and just showered. The towels also had a strange, unpleasant smell, and I found pests in the room, including stink bugs and centipedes. They’ve recently started adding 2,000 yen on top of the room rate, which wasn’t charged when I booked before, and I don’t understand the change. When I called to ask, the woman’s phone manner irritated me. It’s a shame, since some of the staff are very helpful. I’ve found another hotel with great phone service, cleaning, and customer care, so I won’t stay here again.

It’s a cheap place for couples, in a decent location: about a 20-minute drive from the Sakaiminato tourist area and another 20 minutes from Matsue city. There are plenty of amenities, including ones I’m sure women would appreciate. I booked through Yahoo, and it seems they have love hotel and business hotel pricing. The room information said members could get 15% off on weekdays even if they signed up that day. They seem to be trying hard, but scrimping on little things like a welcome drink doesn’t make sense to me. Since places like this rely on repeat guests, I think they should offer the drink and provide membership cards even to online bookers, if they aren’t required. Paying in advance means missing benefits like welcome drinks and food discounts. Having several payment options can confuse guests, and there isn’t much information in the room. You can go out, but it’s basically a love hotel, with a sign saying children aren’t allowed in or overnight.
