We stayed four nights in a private room for two. The accommodation felt cozy and had everything we needed, and the staff were very friendly. The shower and toilet areas were spotless and cleaned every day. A few places we liked: Cafe Makiri for its drip coffee and chili hot dog, Matsumoto Tsunagu Yokocho for the lively food hall and its many Izakayas, and BABA Ji, where we had the best curry we've eaten in Japan.

The service was so kind and helpful, and the 100-year-old building is beautiful and cozy. The beds were comfortable, with thick, fluffy blankets, and you can ask for an extra mattress layer and more blankets if you need them. It's about a 10-minute walk to the castle and center. Traffic nearby can be a little noisy, but closing the window makes it totally fine. Highly recommended!

The staff were really sweet and knew a lot about nearby restaurants and bars. I tried a few of their suggestions, and they were all amazing. Matsumoto Castle is just a 5-10 minute walk away, and there are also public bath, or public baths, and a convenience store nearby. You can reach Asama Onsen by bus from the stop right in front of this guest house. Highly recommended!!!

The sleeping setup is very comfortable, and the place is spacious with thoughtful design and decor. It's right beside Matsumoto Castle. Highly recommend!
