The location is a long way from the city centre, but we walked there in 50 minutes and the views and fresh air were fantastic. My sister and I had a lovely time. The people were wonderful and looked after us the whole time. Breakfast was great, and the onsen was amazing. Thanks for having us and for sending back the things we forgot. Sorry about that, we’d been travelling for several days and were getting tired.

The room was simple but nice, just what we expected, and the onsen was calm and relaxing. The staff were attentive, helped with our requests, and gave us useful information even though we don’t speak Japanese. Breakfast was incredible, and I had the best fish of my life. It’s a little far from the centre of matsumoto, about 20 min with the bus, but the view from the room made up for it. One of the best experiences of our Japan trip.

Getting here from Matsumoto Station means taking a bus or taxi, and the taxi costs over $50. The room was spotless. It was $130 per person with two meals, though the dishes looked much better than they tasted.
