Sasaya

We were stuck in this little village with nothing around and went in hoping to warm our hands and maybe have some tea. The staff shut the door in our faces and told us to leave. They were extremely rude and unwelcoming. It was a really terrible experience. Please don’t waste your time coming here.

The long corridors, rooms facing nature, and nearby natural light made for a wonderfully relaxing setting. The building and the whole experience have a classic, quaint feel, and both the public and private baths are unusual and special. The staff were very accommodating, and we’re grateful they helped with a late arrival from someone in our group. This trek into the mountains was completely worth it. I’ll remember the experience for a long time. Perfect.

The mountain setting is incredibly beautiful, though getting there took a long drive on barely passable roads through heavy snow when I visited in March. You can’t beat the location, way up in the mountains. My room was very nice, with views and a spring water tap. The food was okay, but nowhere near what I expected given how good everything else was.

I went on my own at the end of 2024 and felt lucky to stay somewhere so beautiful. The snow was amaaaaazing, and the service, location, and facilities were all top notch. Hope I can make it back soon!
